As you step inside, you are greeted by friendly staff and an array of enticing dishes that highlight the best of fresh, local ingredients. On a recent visit, I experienced their renowned seafood chowder, which was rich and comforting, a true reflection of the ocean's bounty. The fish and chips also left a lasting impression, beautifully crispy yet tender inside, making it a must-try for any seafood lover.
For families, Le Gabriel shines with its thoughtful kids’ menu, where children can enjoy a delightful meal complete with crayons for creative fun—all for just $10, dessert included! Customers rave about the lemon cake, an irresistible treat that adds a sweet touch to your dining experience.
Beyond the food, the ambiance is just as memorable. The restaurant is adorned with hockey memorabilia, showcasing a passion for Canada’s favorite sport. Additionally, live music often fills the air, inviting guests to unwind as they sip on drinks from the bar. There's even a dance floor for those who wish to groove after a satisfying meal—an activity that truly brings families together, just as one customer shared about dancing with their son.
With ample space, including outdoor seating for warm days and billiards for added fun, Le Gabriel is designed to accommodate everyone. However, do keep in mind that parking can be a challenge on busy days, so arriving early is recommended.
In summary, Le Gabriel Restaurant & Lounge is a culinary gem that beautifully marries delicious food, warm hospitality, and vibrant entertainment. “ We had a very nice lunch here. The food tasted amazing and the staff were very friendly! They had a kids menu with crayons and good variety (10$ including dessert). So many cake desserts to choose from; I would recommend lemon cake! Wonderful seafood chowder and fish and chips. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place :) ”
“ We came for dinner and there is option for live music. Foods are really great, our moms love seafood chowder. Service is fast. Perfect atmosphere ”
“ What a great place to stop and eat. Great service, super friendly. Food is really good and served pretty quickly. Tons of hockey sports memorabilia. They have a bar, a dance floor and feature live music occasionally. Great friendly staff. Highly recommend. ”
“ Big place. There is a second room with billiards and a bar scene. The interior is simple but quite nice. There is a parking lot here but be prepared that on a busy day there will be no place to park. They have several tables outside too. My wife and I took two different breakfasts from the menu and we liked it. And they give you an opportunity for coffee/tea refill here. ”
“ A must stop everytime you visit the Cabot trail. It’s tradition for our family to always eat there. They have great local musicians playing and the food and atmosphere is always a great time. Pool tables to play at while you listen to music. The seafood platter and ham dinner are always a win for our family. My son and I always have a dance on the dance floor and we can’t not stop by every time we are in town. A must visit when in chetticamp! ”
